Native Restoration Planting in Kennedy Woods Savanna
Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:00 am – Noon
KWAG (Kennedy Woods Advisory Group) and FPF (Forest Park Forever) are conducting the spring Native Plug Planting, Saturday April 14 in the Kennedy Woods Savanna in Forest Park, which is a dynamic reconstruction of a rare ecosystem.
Everyone 4 years and older are welcome (parental supervision required for anyone under 18). My good friend Papa Glenn Wright will be leading a rhythm circle during the 10:00 AM arrival and a few of my former musician students will be improvising a stanza of our joyous/sacred "Earth Chant" before the crew leaders take us out for a planting experience.
We will be located in the pines east of the Skinker/Rosebury Blvd intersection. Parking along Skinker is recommended.
All public maintenance and restoration work with us requires pre-registration at Forest Park Forever. To pre-register, click the button below to go to the FPF Volunteer page. Scroll down the page to Volunteer Opportunities: 2018 KWAG SPRING NATIVE PLANTING PROJECT. Click the Sign Up button and fill out the popup form.
Volunteers that sign up will receive an email confirmation from Forest Park Forever and a map the week of April 9 with specific arrival, parking and meet up instructions, along with what to wear and what to bring.
